Biography

Dmitry Shurov is a young Ukrainian composer, pianist and arranger, who is in the process of creating his first opera, "Leo And Leya". 

Dmitry has created music for numerous films in Russia and Ukraine, several fashion shows by Russian top-designer Alena Akhmadullina (the latest one was presented in Paris on the 11 of March 2009, it's soundtrack was based on the aria of Leya and the Dragon from Dmitry's opera), co-produced and arranged the latest album of Russian number one female rock-artist Zemfira, toured as a pianist in most cities of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Baltic countries. Dmitry is a member of international band Esthetic Education, the most interesting and unpredictable group on the post-Soviet scene.     

Having studied in France, USA, Ukraine and Russia, as well as experiencing a successful rock career has all had a huge impact on Dmitry's music - it is an elegant mixture of the world of classic Russian and French composers, influenced by American musicals and the freakiest rock'n'roll singers and songwriters - from Freddie Mercury to Bjork and Rufus Wainwright. 

Currently Dmitry is in the process of composing and orchestrating his first opera "Leo and Leya" that will be presented in Ukraine in spring 2010, and recording his first solo album
